I totally agree with you that drugs and unb...LEE ~
I totally agree with you that drugs and unbelievable wealth seems to create a haze in the mind of celebrities.

I believe another big factor is when fame and fortune comes to people at way too early an age. A small handful of celebrities manage to keep in touch with their feet on the ground, but the vast majority cannot.

Take John Lennon / Lenin for example (although similar examples are nearly endless). The guy was world famous at such a young age that he never really experienced much of life WITHOUT already possessing unspeakable wealth and popularity. This left him out of touch with the common man, whom he desired to champion without experience.

That's the case for so many of these Rock Stars and Movie Stars. They have very little "real life" experience to use as a reference point. Nearly their entire lives, their personal experiences have been distorted by an unrealistic understanding of life thanks to all that wealth and idolization that has insulated them from the reality of the rest of us.

Another perfect example is Bruce Springsteen. He loves to portray himself as a champion of the working class Everyman, to the point that he's now infected with Communist ideology (and probably isn't even educated enough to realize that he is a promoter of Communism and what a deadly disease that political theory is). And yet, Mr. Bruce "Champion Of The Working Class" Springsteen has never held a "real", non-music related job in his entire life! Never!

So, Bruce's understanding of us is really just a Rainbow Unicorn illusion. He sings about shit he's never once experienced, and has no real-life knowledge of.

No, thanks, Brucie! We Eight To Fivers can speak for ourselves. We don't need some deluded, filthy rich Rock Star who doesn't really know the first thing about us speaking for us. Play your shit, then go back to your mansions, and just shut the phuq up!

~ D-FensDogG
[Link:) Stephen T. But I think we've known that. I think a lot of celebrities don't really think too clearly due to a haze of riches and drugs. And actually a lot of them don't even think as far as I can tell.

Lee
Tossing It Out
Arlee Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11663942782929929334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1272211918278108300.post-18755977197684428152017-07-19T19:25:30.746-07:002017-07-19T19:25:30.746-07:00Sixgun McGettinReadyToDraw ~
Yep, we agree on John...Sixgun McGettinReadyToDraw ~
Yep, we agree on John Lenin. But then any decent person with two brain cells to rub together WOULD agree. It's just so obvious he was a hypocrite. Peeing on people you don't know -- "How low can you go?"

It's when we get to the music that the Great Divide begins to open.

Hmmm.... Just had a thought: Since we know we rarely agree on what we like, maybe we would agree more on what we hate. Maybe?

I guess we can start with 'IMAGINE'.

~ D-FensDogG
[Link:) Stephen T.
