HAPPY ATHEIST'S DAY!

Two days after Christmas last year, my old friend The Kansas Kid e-mailed something to me, and I’ve been waiting all these months to post it. I'm pretty darn sure the story is fiction, but IT SHOULDN’T BE!

I apologize in advance if this offends any of you atheists out there. I’d probably feel even worse about it if I actually believed that any of you really exist. But you see, I think y’all dislike God more than you disbelieve in Him. Yeah, I no more believe in that Darwinian Super-Stupid-Superstition than you do. I do, however, believe that Richard Dawkins is a tricky “Dick.”

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY

In Florida , an atheist created a case against the annual Easter, Christmas & Passover holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians, Jews and the observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair to acknowledge and publicly celebrate these occasions, when atheists had no such recognized day(s). The case was brought before a judge.

“Your Honor, the Christians have Christmas, Easter & others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur & Hanukkah. Yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays which are publicly acknowledged and celebrated."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, “But you do. You and your client, counsel, may be woefully ignorant about the occasion, but never the less, it does exist.”

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists.”

The judge replied, “Psalms 14:1 states 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then clearly, he is a fool. Most modern calendars list April 1st as April Fool’s Day, therefore, April 1st is the day when Atheists everywhere can celebrate their foolishness.” At that, he banged his gavel and declared, “Court is adjourned!”
