NOTES FROM DOGTOWN'S DOG POUND (Or, SHEEP & SHEEP)

.

[DOG POUND NOTES are simply random thoughts, ideas, and maxims that have occurred to me. I am totally convinced of the merit of some of them. Others may merely be food-for-thought or even outright Doggy Doo-Doo. I'll let you guess as to how I categorize each of them.]

  1. Interesting platform you have here, Stephen. ☺ I agree that sheeple are everywhere in society. We should be our own selves and not go along with everything that is spouted at us. BTW, when I see the term "Ferret-face(ed) I can't help thinking of Frank Burns (aka Larry Linville) on M*A*S*H. And, you were on that show too! Coincidence? (After writing this, it seems we have had this conversation before.) BTW #2: I am celebrating 10 years+ in the blogging world today. Come join the party, if you have the time. Cheers!

Originally, this blog was titled 'Xtremely Un-PC And Unrepentant'. But after a little while, I changed the blog's name to 'Ferret-Faced Fascist Friends'. And here's the story behind that:

Many years ago, I wrote a humorously facetious review at Amazon.com for the movie 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'. In the review, I reinterpreted everything to have a political meaning related to Hillary Clinton (e.g., Nurse Ratched was symbolic for Hillary Clinton, etc., etc.).

Some woman named Joan Padilla left a comment on my review and said the following...

"HOW BIG OF AN IDIOT TAKES ONE OF THE GREAT FILMS OF THE 20TH CENTURY AND TURNS IT INTO RIGHT WING PROPAGANDA? I HOPE HILLARY DOES GET YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR FERRET-FACED FASCIST FRIENDS."

Ha! That comment tickled me so much that I decided to change the name of this blog to F-FFF. But it may surprise you to know that it wasn't until a couple years after Joan posted that comment that I realized the "ferret-faced" reference was related to Frank Burns. I was never really a fan of M*A*S*H, so that reference flew right over my head until I eventually learned the real origin of it.

So, it's just an odd coincidence that my blog has a subtle M*A*S*H connection.

I will come by and see what you've got going on. I hate to miss a party! [;-)
