HIJACKIN’ DA BOID’S NEST

.
.
With nuttin’ but a box cutter, big pachucos, and my dangling chutzpa, I managed to hijack Arlee Bird’s blog, Tossing It Out. I’m appearing there nightly for one day only!

There is nothing wrong with your television set computer. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. I be controlling da transmission. I will control the horizontal. I will control the vertical. I can roll the image, make it flutter. I can get on down with my bad self! I can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next fifteen minutes, I be controlling all that you see and hear. I repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set computer. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to . . . The Twilight Zone  The Outer Limits

Oops. Sorry ‘bout that, J-Dogg. I meant... click HERE!

  1. I figured you would want to send us over to the scene of the crime, but it's a shame to cover up those two 'great posts' from Monday so soon.

  2. Thank you, FAE!

I too was thinking it unfortunate to start burying those two posts already. But, I guess the silver lining is that this advertisement for my guest post (blog hijacking) at Arlee's place is pretty darn short, so the first "It Is Written" piece is still pretty close toward the top.

Plus, I'm not planning to post anything else here for a little while, as I will begin working fairly diligently on my massive, multi-part 'Ferret-Faced Fascist Friends' farewell post. (It'll take a good deal of time.)

  3. You've provided some readers some talk on my blog and I think many of them will be scared. We'll see the outcome of the post, but you know how to tell it like it is. A lot of people would rather not know how it really is in the real world.

Thanks for the guest post, Stephen.

  4. Just so you know, it is a good day even though the sad memories. 'For how are we to know the good, if we do not also taste the bad or unfortunate.' Contrasts in life only make it sweeter.

  6. That's a great article, my friend, that way more Americans need to read. Myself, I got rid of the Boob Tube 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I don't miss TV at all. Also, you'd be surprised how much you can get done when you aren't staring at a little plastic box wiping away drool.

It's funny to think that we have so many foreigners taking and passing a history test to get their citizenship that most Americans couldn't pass. Isn't that sad?

  7. BEER BROTHER ~
Good for you, killing your TV like that! I do have a TV but other than the occasional baseball or football game I'll watch, I NEVER turn it on unless I'm about to pop a DVD into the player.

And, yes, you said it... Very sad that the vast majority of Americans couldn't pass a USA citizenship test. Everybody loves to boast of the so-called "land of the free and home of the brave" and "Rah!-Rah! Team USA!", and yet so few can really explain what made the USA so special once upon a time.
