HOW I FEEL ABOUT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT (Or, IT'S ALL IN BONEHEAD'S TWITCH!)

.
[DOG POUND NOTES are simply random thoughts, ideas, and maxims that have occurred to me. I am totally convinced of the merit of some of them. Others may merely be food-for-thought or even outright Doggy Doo-Doo. I'll let you guess as to how I categorize each of them.]

.
NO! That's not me. That's my sister, "Bonehead", as she appeared in the 1986 movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'. That close-up of her occurred in a scene where Bueller's teacher was droning on and on and on...
.
Every time I see that expression on my sister's face, it reminds me of how I feel about the United States government and "this world" as it is today.
.
(Very well done, Bonehead! You captured your brother's disgust poifectly!)

A person's Spiritual consciousness you cannot see because Spirit is invisible. However, just as heat is invisible and yet it affects how high the mercury will rise in a thermometer, a person's political positions are like a thermometer that indicates their level of Spiritual understanding.
.
If the person supports abortion, pedophilia, homosexuality, Transgenderism, Feminism, Totalitarian government, and theft via government-mandated Socialism, then those positions are like mercury rising in a thermometer, illustrating for the world to see, that person's lack of Spiritual consciousness.

I've seen it three or four times now and I think the best movie to come out of Hollyweird in the last 15 or 20 years was 'THE BIG SHORT', which included a character named Mark Baum. (Thanks for recommending it, FAE!) Although he's Jewish (whereas I am a Maverick Christian), Mark Baum is a pretty good semi-fictional representation of me. Monte Walsh (Lee Marvin) and Mark Baum (Steve Carell) -- both of them are like aspects of my own personality found in films.
.
And there are two fantastic quotes that come from the Mark Baum character in 'The Big Short'. Here they are:
.
"We live in an era of fraud in America. Not just in banking, but in government, education, religion, food, even baseball."
~ Mark Baum
.
Mark Baum: "It's time to call bullshit."
Vinny Daniel: "Bullshit on what?"
Baum: "Every-fucking-thing."

Having been a voracious reader of nonfiction books for the vast majority of my nearly 6 decades of life on this Earth, I was long ago convinced of the fact that almost all "common knowledge" is incorrect.
.
In other words, there's a high likelihood that nearly everything you know to be true is not. Or as that famous maxim goes: “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.”

"...the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."

I subscribe to Adrian Rogers' 'Love Worth Finding' Daily Devotional Series. Here's an example of why I do:
.
.
How to Know the Will of God
.
MAY 29, 2018
.
“… present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2
.
Some people say, “Oh, I’m searching to know the will of God.” Listen, it’s not your job to find the will of God. It’s God’s job to reveal His will to you. It is your job simply to present yourself to Him.
.
And THAT is why I meditate every day!

NOTES FROM DOGTOWN'S DOG POUND (Or, SPREADING THE 2018 GOSPEL)

.
I recently found the following advertisement on a page at Biblegateway.com:
.
.
No one should wonder why I usually refer to myself NOT as "a Christian" but as "a Maverick Christian".
.
Just a couple days ago I wrote the following to a friend of mine:
.
I have become a pretty anti-church guy. And I mean all churches. I have long thought the Catholic church was demonically infiltrated and infested. Today, I suspect that this had occurred right from the start. And furthermore, today, I feel that church is not the way most people are going to find God. The time is very, very short now -- 2029, give or take a year or two -- and I don't sense that God is doing most of His work through churches anymore. The Bible clearly tells us that the devil presents himself as an angel of light:
.
...false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
.
I'll be the first to say that I am very far from perfect, but in my opinion, it is sad that Biblegateway.com would associate itself with an ad like that one above. In an article AT Biblegateway, one of their writers wrote:
.
The command do not love the world demands that we reject those ways of life which do not lead us to God or to the practice of truth, justice, righteousness and love. While this sounds easy enough in theory, it is not easy in practice.
.
Yeah, so we see. Can anyone imagine Jesus saying: "Invest like a woman because money is power"? Does anyone think that's an appropriate advertisement for a website that promotes an authentic Christian worldview?

Walking home from the grocery store just now, I saw a Black Millennial dude in his twenties carrying a white cell phone. I couldn't help thinking that, according to 'The Book Of Millennialism 101', he was guilty of two crimes:
.
1) The fact that his cell phone was white made him an "Uncle Tom".
.
2) The fact that he even had a cell phone made him guilty of "Cultural Appropriation". Because, let's face it, we all know that cell phones exist only because of White nerds (and probably some Asian nerds, too).
.
People who live by the 21st Century rule book, 'Millennialism 101', will also be pronounced guilty by its very statutes.
